The Andalusian Agency for Innovation and Development (IDEA) has awarded funding to GRI Towers Sevilla to develop the OFFSHOREWIND R&D project, focused on the industrial research of a new generation of offshore wind metal substructures for a wide spectrum of load based on new structural calculation models, new materials and disruptive manufacturing technologies in Smart Factory environments. that provide a structural response for high-power offshore wind turbines (more than 7MW).
The project will be developed together with the University of Seville under the Joint Innovation Unit model, whose objective is to strengthen cooperation between research organizations and large companies, to promote the Andalusian business fabric through investment in R+D+i. It is therefore an alliance between both entities with a medium-term duration of 3 years.
