GRI RENEWABLE INDUSTRIES PUBLISHES ITS SUSTAINABILITY REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2024
- The Report reflects the company’s culture and how it integrates sustainability under an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) approach in all business areas.
- The company achieves a silver ‘TOP15%’ rating from the EcoVadis supply chain sustainability risk rating.
- In 2024, the GRI Forest reached more than 21,000 trees planted with an annual absorption rate of 262 tCO2/year.

GRI Renewable Industries, a global leader in the manufacture of towers and flanges for the wind energy sector, presents its Sustainability Report 2024. This report highlights the Group’s commitment to sustainability and corporate responsibility within the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework, the Global Reporting Initiative’s GRI Standards and the Sustainable Development Goals.
GRI Renewable Industries has integrated Sustainability as one of the 7 pillars of its Strategic Plan 2023/26, providing guidelines to drive the growth of industrial activity. The company works on 4 lines of action: environmental impact, labour relations and human rights, ethics and supply chain.
Environmental Sphere
1.- Carbon Neutral Plan 2030/50: GRI Renewable Industries has implemented the Carbon Neutral Plan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. In 2024, the company continues its commitment to solar photovoltaic self-consumption with the commissioning of the South African facility. 100% of the electricity consumed in its factories in Brazil and Spain comes from renewable sources, with the objective of reaching the total of the factories by 2030.
In 2024, the reforestation and environmental volunteering programme promoted by GRI Renewable Industries, the GRI Forest, grew with 4 new reforestation projects totalling 2,150 trees with a cumulative annual absorption capacity of more than 262 tonnes of CO2 per year. Its main objective is to raise awareness among employees and society of the importance of biodiversity conservation and the fight against climate change.
2.- Circular Economy: The company has made progress in the sustainable management of raw materials and waste. In 2024, 98% of steel scrap was recycled, contributing to the circular economy.
Social Sphere
1.- Health and Safety: GRI has implemented a health and safety management system under the ISO 45001 standard, covering 92% of employees. In 2024, significant progress was made in reducing accidents, with factories such as FIHI Forging reaching 200 days without work-related accidents.
2.- Well-being and Work Flexibility: Measures have been implemented to improve work-life balance, such as flexible working hours in corporate offices and intensive summer working hours. In addition, welfare initiatives have been carried out, such as participation in charity races and the organisation of sporting activities.
Governance and Transparency
1.- Compliance and Ethics Policies: GRI has updated and approved new policies in 2024, including the Human Rights Policy, the Fraud and Corruption Policy, and the Compliance Policy. In addition, the Ethics Channel has doubled the number of visits, reflecting an increase in transparency and commitment to ethics.
2.- Assessment and Audit: The company has implemented a continuous audit system for the identification of risks and improvement of business processes. In 2024, 17 supplier audits were conducted, ensuring compliance with sustainability and quality standards.
3.- Sustainability Awards: GRI Renewable Industries was recognised by EcoVadis with a silver medal, placing it among the TOP 15% of companies assessed globally.
