On August 14, 2026, the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion approved the IA360 grants, aimed at fostering business innovation through experimental development and the application of artificial intelligence technologies, under procedure code IG408M. The IVAS project was one of the projects approved under this call and is led by GRI Renewable Energy Industries, S.L.U., in collaboration with GRI Towers Galicia, S.L.
The INDUSTRIAL VISION AND AI FOR SAFETY (IVAS) project aims to develop and industrially validate a robust and functional solution for the automatic detection and real-time management of complex risk situations in the manufacturing of large-scale, heavy-duty components, based on mature machine vision technologies and integrated into GRI’s industrial IoT platform.
This project has the following main objectives:
- • Increase the robustness and reliability of existing machine vision algorithms
- • Industrialize the machine vision system for continuous operation in a production environment
- • Integrate the machine vision-based safety system into GRI’s industrial IoT platform
- • Implement a physical alarm system in the plant using industrial beacons
- • Improve traceability and management of industrial safety events
- • Prepare the system for scalability and replication in other areas, plants, and industries manufacturing large and heavy products
