The GRI R&D Engineering team in Seville operates from Headquarters 1 of the University Innovation Center Andalucía, Alentejo and Algarve (CIU3A), a unique environment for applied research in wind tower manufacturing.
This “mini-factory” integrates real industrial machinery and advanced technologies such as robotics, IoT sensors, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. Specialized engineers work in areas including structural analysis, industrial organization, Industry 4.0, materials, and chemistry. In collaboration with the University of Seville, this center drives innovative solutions and strengthens a successful model of public-private cooperation.
The GRI Türkiye (GESBEY) R&D center, located within the Bandırma plant complex and part of the global GRI R&D Engineering team, develops advanced technological solutions for wind tower design and manufacturing, covering key industrial processes in a comprehensive manner. Its innovations—applied across GRI factories—include advanced machinery and robotic systems. In collaboration with universities, it has filed 29 patent applications (13 granted). Since 2025, it has expanded into AI, computer vision, and smart sensor technologies.
