The Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) has granted funding to GRI Renewable Industries, S.L., for the development of the R&D project “ROCKET”.
The “ROCKET” project is based on the development of new disruptive structural design solutions based on a new concept of satellite bodies adhering to a central body without straps that achieves an advanced configuration of moments, working with traction and compression and allowing the reduction of the dimensions of the structure while maintaining the height of the tower. which results in significant advantages.
This structural solution allows a significant reduction in the use of raw materials, manufacturing, logistics, and assembly costs, having the capacity to design towers from 140m to 200m of hub and to adapt to the different state-of-the-art wind turbines. It also allows for modular on-site execution. All this has an impact on greater production flexibility, a reduction in execution times on site, and, therefore, a reduction in the execution costs of the entire structure.
